Adolfo's Reversal

In this sad wave of mod-rock revival, post rock wanking, and new wave boredom, AR rises above the putrid debris confusing the hell out of most everyone. The musical ground the band explores simply has no precedent...unless shows where 20 aesthetics collide at once in a psychedelic barrage are commonplace. Truly, this music speaks a new gospel; one that strives to converge performance, passion, and technical precision.

This is a group of charming lads inclined to write and materialize interesting songs. The guitar work is delicately placed while the bass and keyboard swirl around and back in to the heart of the songs. A strong counterpoint to all of the instrumentation is the vocal work. Usually the singing follows the harmony of the keyboard but does wonder out into distant familiar grounds.

As people these players are intelligent, gifted, and quirky; certainly the ingredients of a rock n roller. Their output is dark in a very LEONARD COHEN kind of way.

Players: Zack Hennard, Omar Chavez, David Nolen, Yamal Said
Instruments: Egg Shaker, Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Keyboards, Tambourine, Drums
Discography: Adolfo's Reversal 's/t' CDEP

Reviews:

"Adolfo's Reversal searches earnestly for the point where postpunk pop, prog, and so called 'post rock' interesect. Herky jerky rhythms, intertwined guitar lines, and a restless melodic sense permeate the band's s/t EP. The songs and arrangements sound remarkably complex, especially coming from a band so young".

"This is the strangest combination I've heard in quite awhile. Imagine Bela Fleck and Holst trying to break up a fight that features Santana and Joni Mitchell being bludgeoned by a number of Jazz legends, while Roger Waters and Jethro Tull scratch their heads and wonder what in the hell is happening".
